We are making a call out to our St Joseph School Alumni Community!
We are gathering photos and documents from our alumni in student and staff so we can put together a report to celebrate the 100 years since the establishment of our inspiring school! You can send submissions to us at contact@stjosephmissionschool.org OR you can bring your photo/documents to our front office and we would be happy to make a copy and return the originals to you. Thank you so much in advance. We are very much looking forward to seeing all the captured memories and stories of our alumni. Happy New Year of 2023! We pray for many blessings to be with you and your household in this new year. The school is filled with recharged energy from our Christmas break - and we are filled with deep joy as we continue to celebrate the birth of Christ. Before the Christmas break, our staff was able to gather to celebrate the accomplishments and graces with having finished halfway into the school year. During this gathering, we were deeply struck that we were all entrusted to carry on the work of the friars who established the school 100 years ago. We enter this new year with humbleness, being very aware of how God our Creator has called us to serve right where we are. We also extend gratitude to our loved ones and mentors who have brought us to where we are now. We are guides in each other's lives. Please enjoy our school Christmas video which shares captured moments in photo and recording of the blessings we received and shared throughout the Christmas season through the Red Shirt dance, and also through gifting a tree decorating and carol singing. In this January Newsletter, we want to share about our academic achievements and opportunities from the school spelling bee to our STEM days, along with hosting our network school leaders, and honoring our community service members.
Dear Everyone,
As we begin another liturgical year and come to close our calendar year, we enter the routine of reports and finishing up our responsibilities. We know that at times this is nearly impossible with many interruptions in our schedules. What we can control is how we relate with others and with ourselves, specifically in our relationships with our families, our co-workers and our friends. How we see ourselves in our relationships determines how we reflect the face of Christ. This can be difficult task when it involves forgiveness, the ultimate act of love. In this Advent season, our prayer as a faith community is that the Peace of the Newborn Christ might remind us of the simplicity we are drawn to in practice, one of stillness and quiet. Therefore our real responsibility lies in our relationship with our Creator in love and expressing this love through the humility of God made man and placed in a manger. In this December Newsletter we want to share about the life and appreciation we hold for the late Father Alberto Avella, our forthcoming Annual Report, and a very special visit from our friend Losang Samten. Hello friends of St Joseph Mission School,
May the Creator be with you and your loved ones. We are so grateful for the school year we have entered into and the growth and blessings we have been trusted with. The day this newsletter is being sent out, we are holding our Quarter 1 Parent, Student and Teacher conferences where we have placed responsibility for students to lead the conversation in evaluating the their habits and strengths. This practice builds off how at the school we hold high expectations of our students, as we understand they are called to greatness through God. Thank your for joining us this October Newsletter, we want to share with you a piece on our successful summer 2022 school program, a call to our school alumni, along with sharing gratitude for our Gala Fundraiser event. We excitedly welcome students, staff and families to ring in the 2022 - 2023 school year! The school observed class closure during the month of July, after holding our first summer program in June. We return with much fervor and hope. In the school we specialize in preparing for a future beyond our current day - this is why we established the Environment as one of our school pillars; on the first of September we join in prayer with our Church during the Season of Creation, to "listen to the voice of creation” which may foster in everyone “a concrete commitment to care for our common home.” Link to learn more about the Season of Creation. In this newsletter you will find a prayer meditation, favorable impacts from the months of April and May, and encountering our Notre Dame community. Hello SJMS Community,
We want to first begin by stating, we acknowledge that world events of war have left us all in a very uncertain state of mind and heart. Here at St Joseph Mission School, we stand alongside, and hold in prayer our brothers and sisters in lands faced with the ravages of war. We answer the call of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, to fast and pray for the end to war and towards peace. Many blessings to you and your loved ones during this Lenten season. May it be a time of peace and reflection, for all who celebrate. In this month's newsletter, SJMS would like to invite you to reflect on the opportunity of new growth, and the hope and peace that our chapel provides. |
